Most of the hike today was pretty easy. Some nice weather, pretty overcast all day but that kept the temps down so it wasn't a bad thing. There had been flyers posted in Hot Springs for some people doing trail magic on May 1st, 10am-3pm at Sam's Gap, where the trail passes under I-26. They are gonna be there feeding the hikers passing thru with burgers and hot-dogs, chips and drinks. So alot of people are excited about that. Normally trail magic is un-expected but I guess these folks wanted alot of people to show up so they posted flyers. The Hogback Ridge Shelter is only 2.4 miles away from the where it is being held, so we had a pretty full shelter and lots of people tenting, eager to get free lunch the next day.
