6-15-2009 Mon

Start point: The Priest
End point: Cedar Cliffs
miles hiked: 15

Got out of camp right around the same time as Gorgonzola and Denali. There is this blue blaze I had been planning on doing ever since I started called the Mau-Har trail, and they decided to do it as well. It is a steep, difficult route, but you go right next to a creek that has a ton of waterfalls and a couple swimming holes. It was a really pretty area, but the water was freezing!

I was able to get in all the way, but only for a second. We met back up with Dragonbreath and Nature when we got to the Maupin Field Shelter for lunch. There was a lookout about a mile before the Cedar Cliffs that had a good view:

This spot we had tonight to tent was great, right on the cliffs. Got there kinda late so didn't catch the actual sunset, but the sky was still really pretty. We can see the town lights in the valley down below in the distance.
